February 28, the combined effect of wind and high tide caused flooding very important (and a hundred deaths) especially in the Vendée and Charente Maritime.
The level of the Loire has also mounted a lot which caused the flooding of the marshes near Nantes (2-3 meters longer than usual).

Two weeks later, the flooded marshes are a paradise for birds : shelducks, swans, storks, herons, ibis, goldfinches, .... because these marshes have dried up part of the year to allow cows to feed. Farmers want
drain swamps and flood the hunters, but nature does what she wants!
